Mill City Museum Wedding Photos: Lauren and Matt | Minnesota Wedding Photographer

Lauren and Matt were married on SUCH a hot September day. It made for amazing Mill City Museum wedding photos. For some reason this year, Minnesota decided to be incredibly humid and hot for the first few weeks of fall and then freezing cold for the next few. September can be a real mixed bag. We photographed their engagement photos the prior fall and it was pouring rain the entire time. So if you live in Minnesota, don’t ever depend on the weather for wedding planning because you just never know! 🙂

The day began at the Renaissance Hotel and I bring that up because the lighting there was SO amazing for getting ready photos. There was an element to it that gave the photos more of a dramatic vibe, which makes me wish I could post all the getting ready photos to this blog. It was SO bright out during portraits, so I’m happy that we were able to find spots throughout the day that weren’t in direct sunlight to get them some more balanced photos.

Mill City Museum wedding photos are some of the best. They are so unique. The museum is based around ruins, so it is very different than other venues. If you haven’t ever been there, I highly suggest it.

The most memorable part of the day, we feel, that no one will ever forget, was the first dance. It went great until at the very end, Matt dipped Lauren…and dropped her! She was okay, so it was funny, rather than upsetting. We got the exact moment in a photo, and not only that, it was in focus, the flash went off just right, and it all just worked.
