Kate and Kyle’s wedding was just such a fun day. It probably is up there as one of our favorite weddings because everyone involved had such a great time, so the day was very much stress free and enjoyable.  The two of them were so relaxed and their wedding day very much reflected that.

When we booked with them, they said they were getting married in Golden Valley. Kyle (our Kyle, not Kate’s Kyle) grew up in Golden Valley and goes, “At Brookview?”. Yes, it was at Brookview. Throughout the wedding day, we got random tidbits from him of what Golden Valley was like in the 80’s, which was quite funny. The venue itself was very pretty and there was also a great park beside it for outdoor photos, as we couldn’t shoot on the green at all, unlike other golf courses we have shot at.

When we shot their engagement session, it was on an icy cold day in Minneapolis at sunrise.  It was so pretty, but oh, so cold.  Again though, Kyle and Kate were super relaxed, even in that environment.

Here are some fun moments and aspects of the day:

• Kate’s smile just lights up the whole room. We got so many great candids of her and Kyle throughout the day because they were both so naturally happy and relaxed.

• During the couple’s photos, we went to take photos of their dog, Caesar. Caesar rules. We got a few shots of just him wearing his bowtie and my favorite is one where his eyes are closed and he looks like he’s laughing (see below).

• Kate is a teacher. We do a lot of weddings for teachers. Her students made her a book for the day that was on the table with all the details. It was adorable.

• They had a frozen yogurt bar for the deserts. That’s awesome all the way around.

• They had tacos for dinner. Double awesome.

• Kate’s wedding dress was actually a bridesmaid’s dress. She loved it and it cost far less than a wedding dress, so why not? She also had a second dress for the reception.
