Love these two – shooting their wedding was fantastic for so many reasons. They were married on a very hot summer day at their church and later had a reception at Majestic Oaks Golf Club.
We started the journey of their wedding day driving to Norilyn’s home for getting ready photos. We had stupidly skipped breakfast and were not feeling that great. We get there and her family made what I can only describe as an AMAZING breakfast, insisting that we eat as much as we want. It was cool because we got these super tasty pancakes, but then we got a Filipino breakfast of noodles, which is a dish that I am going to have to get from Norilyn because I could just sit and eat that for the rest of my life.
The ceremony was beautiful, with an incredible reception at Majestic Oaks Golf Club. One of my favorite aspects of this reception was their dollar dance. Rather than simply giving the money to the maid of honor and best man, the bills were pinned to the bride’s dress and the groom’s shirt. It was so cool to see that. It was something entirely new to us.
The day was incredibly hot for a Minnesota June, and a storm that could have rivaled a tornado blew through during the reception, but it did not happen to damper the festivities. The rain ended before the end of the reception and we were able to take some beautiful post rain portraits of the happy bride and groom.
