Which Wedding Package is Right for Me?

We get this question
ALL THE TIME.
And we completely understand why.  It would be the first question I would ask if I was booking my wedding photography.

There is no one size fits all answer to this question.  However, it is super important to know because, let's face it.  You're not just doing photography.  You have to book hair, makeup, dinner, and, of course, the time you're getting married!

We have done Minnesota wedding photography since 2010.  As a result, we've come to figure out a pretty standard timeline that works 99% of the time.  Will this timeline fit every wedding?  No, nothing ever does.  But, it gives you an idea of how much time photography takes.  Because of this, you can fit the time around your day fairly easily.

Below are two different wedding photography timelines.  One is based upon a couple that does a first look.  The other is based around a couple that does not do a first look.  99% of our couples do a first look, but we like to show both timelines in case you decide it is not for you.

*These timelines are based around a 4pm ceremony time and a wedding that has no travel time.  Please bear this in mind.

11am - Photography begins with getting ready photos - hair, makeup, getting dressed

12:30pm - Any first looks with parents, wedding party, etc, if doing them

1pm - Couple first look and couple photos

2pm - Wedding party and family photos

3:15pm - Break for ceremony prep. This is necessary for photographer to establish proper lighting to ensure that the ceremony photos look right, as well as get seated to shoot. The couple needs to hide from the guests and do anything necessary prior to the ceremony.

4pm - Ceremony

4:30pm - Cocktail hour photos, any photos of family members that were not available before ceremony, possible additional couple photos

6pm - Dinner and speeches

7:30pm - First dance

9pm - Photography ends

ADDITIONAL NOTES
  • The timeline without a first look does not include the cocktail hour because that is when we will be doing couple photos and photos of the couple together with their families and wedding party.
  • We also do sunset and night photos, but that just depends on the time the sun actually sets.

if you're curious, our ten hour package covers all of this from getting ready to well into reception dancing.
