This was an especially fun wedding to shoot, one that we had been looking forward to since we met Tess and Eric, as they are two of the nicest people we have ever worked with. The two were married at the Carpenter Nature Center in Hastings, Minnesota, which we would highly recommend for weddings. The place is absolutely beautiful, filled with flower gardens, trails, and more. It’s a nature center, so it has to live up to it’s name, and it really does.
We actually only shot them for four hours, but got a lot more than we thought was possible in that amount of time. They were both wonderful to deal with, as well as their family and friends, making all the photography (and the whole day overall) go incredibly smoothly. We photographed their engagement session earlier in the year. The two were a very adventurous type, quickly hoping into the fountain at the place we did their engagement photos at. It was awesome because that day was just as hot as their wedding.
Highlights from the day:
- Tess and Eric were all about nature. They had a very sunny day, so the light was a bit crazy. They totally embraced it, however, saying it was nature.
- They had a food truck for their reception.
- The reception was all outside and was amazing due to the warm weather.
- There were a lot of Japanese details in the wedding due to Eric’s heritage.
Thank you to the following vendors for making this day all the more amazing than it already was:
