Fall Engagement Photos During Sunset in October

The sunset in October is SO beautiful.  With all those colors nature provides, it’s perfect for engagement photography.  Of course, Minnesotans know that.  That’s why we all want photos at that time of year.

We had technically worked with Maria and Jay in the past.  We shot her cousin’s wedding and they were there.  When we met with them to discuss their day, I recognized her right away. Kyle recognized him right away.  So that’s fun.  They are getting married on June 7 of this year.  I can’t even tell you how many people have asked for that date.  I don’t know if it’s the numbers of six seven or what.  But SO many people want June 7.  The funny thing is, that happened last year too with the same weekend.  I love that because I’m a big fan of June weddings.  And getting to work with the same group of people again is always great.

They are getting married at the Nicollet Island Inn, which we are excited about.  If you’ve never been there, the inn is just classic.  And we love ourselves a classic wedding.  Not only that, but it’s in a gorgeous area of town.  So we were seeing their wedding photos in our head immediately.

This session was a lot of fun.  They wanted to do everything.  Spray champagne, hop in the water, just have fun.  We just love when people are like this.  Often times, we will have clients see people do things like getting in water.  But then when we arrive, they don’t want to have to get in the water.  We have to explain that is how you get those photos. Which sounds kind of crazy, but it happens.  So we love when people are like, “Well, yeah, we’re getting in the water because we want the photos!”

Their wedding is going to be a lot of fun.  It’ll be a great way to start the summer.
