Thuy and Allen were married on a summer day at Millennium Gardens in Plymouth and had a reception at Midpointe Event Center. We love shooting at Millennium Gardens and have shot weddings there since.
When we first met Thuy and Allen, it was in Los Angeles. I remember when Thuy first inquired about photography because we were at a Madonna concert and it was about to start. Being the way I am, I had to get back to her immediately and stepped out of the show to email her back. The two of them lived in Los Angeles at the time, but were moving back to Minneapolis before the wedding. It just so happened that we were shooting a wedding in Laguna Beach in the coming months. Since we were there for a few extra days, we took the time to meet them and do their incredible engagement session. That way, they had photos in Los Angeles and Minneapolis. That session was later published in Santa Monica.
To this day, their wedding is the longest wedding we have ever shot. We did photography with them for sixteen hours. It’s one of the reasons we no longer off a full day package. No one purposely is out to exhaust us, but it’s easy to forget how hard it is to be on your feet carrying camera gear and really working all day. Their ceremony was in Plymouth, Minnesota. We then drove down to Minneapolis to do photos at Mill City and the Stone Arch Bridge. Then we went to Saint Paul for the reception. It was a long, but really fun day.
