Callan and John were married in a beautiful destination night wedding in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida in April.  Being from Minneapolis, it was a fantastic area to have an April wedding, warm and full of beaches and the ocean.  We shot their engagement session mere weeks before the wedding because they just wanted some nice photos.

Originally, they were going to be married on the beach, but their original venue closed and they had to find another one short notice.  They came upon the incredible Monet Monet, a fashion boutique complete with a garden that looks like something out of a fairy tale.  Being a huge fan of the South, with all it’s charm and the accents, I was in Heaven shooting this wedding.

Their day was very different in that the ceremony took place at night.  Not at sunset, at night.  They had a night wedding.  The ceremony was lit by the beautiful alter, a couple ground lights, and an aisle of candles.  One word of advice – if you are having a night wedding, make sure you get a photographer that has experience shooting very low lit environments.  I was so glad we were experienced in low light because had we not been, we wouldn’t have been able to shoot the ceremony at all.

The whole wedding was backwards in a sense, as they did their cocktail hour, dinner, then the ceremony and reception.  Callan also had two dresses, a beautiful long, strapless gown for the ceremony and reception, and a simply gorgeous shorter dress (my fav) for the cocktail hour.  It really shows that you can do your day any way you want.
