Nikki and Kevin were married at Coop’s Event Barn on a very rainy, yet magical August day.  There’s a reason why we call this a geek wedding.  It’s a total geek wedding and here’s why.

What makes this wedding special aside from this awesome couple?  It was a Harry Potter/Star Wars themed wedding!  So fun!  The groom and all his guys had lightsabers and the bride and bridesmaids all had wands, each one different.  They opted for very less than traditional wedding photography, as it was very much candid and the “formal” photos with friends and family were filled with laughs, lightsaber fights, and magical battles.  This is very similar to the way they did their engagement photos.  Their first engagement session was a powder paint session.  If you don’t know what that is, it’s photography including colored paint.  They made it incredible.  They later did a more formal, yet gorgeous, engagement session in Loring Park.

We loved how much fun these two had with their big day.  It was very much “them” and they didn’t let anything get them down.  Yet another prime example of how awesome a wedding can be, despite the weather.  Congrats to Nikki and Kevin!
