Jenna and Karl were our third wedding over this Memorial Day weekend.  They were married at the beautiful Summit Manor Reception House on Summit Avenue in St. Paul.  We love when the bride and groom essentially match their venue.  By that, we that their entire look matched the historical aspects of the venue.  All of Summit Avenue feels historic to us.  Jenna’s dress was actually from the 1980’s, but customized for her.  The sleeves were cut off of it, for one thing.  It made for an amazing look.

The weather for the day (as well as the weekend) was well into the nineties.  However, we had a lot of cloud coverage, making for an incredible balance in the ceremony photos. There’s nothing better than a cloudy day for photography and being able to shoot at this beautiful venue on such a day was a real treat.  Their engagement session was cloudy as well, but it was very cold.  Their engagement session was during the very cold winter in the middle of Northeast Minneapolis.

Jenna and Karl had a very laid back wedding, very much enjoying every moment of their day, regardless of what happened.  That’s something we love in clients, as all the emotions we capture are very happy and genuine.  Everyone at their wedding was just like them and it made for such a carefree day.  They simply enjoyed the day and had it be what they wanted it to be, rather than worrying about what everyone else thought their wedding should be.
