Trish and Nick were married on a very hot and bright September day at Oak Ridge Conference Center. A Minnesota September wedding is always a guess on what you’re getting weather wise. A Minnesota September wedding is actually our most popular. People love that month in this state. But it can be hot or cold, rainy, snowy, and more. This particular day was very warm.
We shot their engagement photos on a cold fall day the prior October, so this was a completely different situation. Despite the weather, the wedding was absolutely beautiful and the day was so much fun. Their wedding party and family were wonderful to work with and the flower girl and ring bearer were just adorable. We love when kids are excited about photos, as they make for some of the best shots. Also, their dinner was one of the best dinners we have ever had at a wedding.
One thing that was really unique about the photography for this day was that there was so much sun, that we really had to utilize it. Cloudy days are the best for photography and sunny days are usually the worst, but we’ve been doing our best lately to embrace the shadows that come with the sun, making for a different, yet interesting look. You can see in these photos how bright it was. However, you can also see how you can utilize shadows and light on a very bright day.
