Engaged: Kate and Kyle | Stone Arch Bridge | Sunrise Engagement Photography | Minnesota Wedding Photographer

Kate and Kyle are awesome. We mentioned the idea of sunrise engagement photography to them and they were all for it.  Sunrise adds SO much to winter photography, based on previous experience.  It’s a time that a lot of people don’t like to get their photos done due to the look of Minnesota at the time.  If you ever want to see what I’m talking about, watch a few winter sunrises.  They are incredible.  The colors are so vivid and there are so many of them.

Funny thing about this particular winter shoot, it was in January and it is currently not a typical January in Minnesota. Usually there is more snow and it is MUCH colder. Luckily, it was thirty seven degrees out when we shot this.  We did not expect that.  Kate and Kyle brought their adorable dog, Caesar, who is pretty young yet.  He is a total puppy and was all playful and fun.  The first few photos were so dark.  It looked like the middle of the night.  It amazed us how fast the light turned during the session.  That’s why you’ll see several different types of light in this post.  That’s the nature of a sunrise engagement photography.

These two were married on a very hot day.  It often happens that the engagement and wedding days are polar opposites of each other.
