Jana and Paul are all about the University of Minnesota. We were recently informed that we use the words ‘cute’ and ‘fun’ constantly at weddings and on the blog. Just so you’re aware, that will continue. I’m too busy editing photos constantly to come up with new adjectives in my vocabulary, lol. This wedding was so much fun. Jana and Paul are great people to work with and their day really reflected them. It began getting ready at an apartment in Minneapolis, then going to the #9 bridge in Minneapolis for the first look.

We shot their engagement session at the U, Jana works there, the both went to school there, and they are huge fans of the University of Minnesota sports. Due to this, we spent a good amount of time on the campus and in Dinkytown, shooting couple photos and family photos at Northrop Auditorium and around the city. When we photographed their engagement photography, it was COLD. I can’t remember if it was actually below zero, but it certainly felt like it. Much like many weddings we have shot in the past, the weather was the exact opposite the day of the wedding, ranging from 88 to 93 degrees throughout the day. So the two of them have a good mix of photography of the two of them in various weather.

The whole day was wonderful, but I have to say that the highlight of it was after the spotlight dances, when Goldy Gopher showed up, taking the bride and groom by surprise. YES, Goldy Gopher of the University of Minnesota  showed up. If you want a way to make your dance floor light up, bring a mascot into the venue. The place lit up. Congrats again to Jana and Paul!
