Kat and Aaron’s wedding was a gorgeous way to welcome September into 2019. They were married on a Sunday, which we always enjoy. Sunday weddings are always so much more relaxed than any other day of the week in our experience.
The last time we had photographed a wedding at Olympic Hills Golf Club was in 2015, so it was really fun getting to be back there for Kat and Aaron’s wedding. The venue is beautiful – a photographer’s paradise. We could have shot photos there for days. The staff is wonderful to work with as well. Kat and Aaron’s wedding was very much “their” wedding. If you don’t understand what I mean, it’s that they focused only on what they wanted, not what their family and friends told them their wedding should be, what the wedding industry told them it should be, or anyone else. They went with what they wanted and it was fantastic. We love when couples do that.
Their engagement session was no exception to that rule. When we did their engagement photos, we shot them at their house because they wanted their cats involved. It was so much fun and we got to play with black kitties.
Some great highlights from their day include the following:
Their cupcakes were special delivered that morning from Iowa. Kat LOVES that bakery and didn’t think she would be able to get them. She requested a quote, only to find out that it was cheaper to have them deliver from Iowa than to get cupcakes around Minneapolis. And it was worth it. Scratch Cupcakery is SO YUMMY.
Kat’s dress – OMG!!!
The colors of the wedding. The bridesmaids wore green dresses and the flowers were orange and green. It was so fall themed (which we absolutely love). After hearing nothing about how fall was beginning for the last two weeks, this was a really cool way to transition into the fall months.
Kyle knew their videographer from junior high. Yeah, small world, lol.
They gave us one of each of those incredible cupcakes at the end of the day.
Thank you to the following vendors for making their day so special:
