Nicollet Island Inn Wedding
Maria and Jay had their beautiful Nicollet Island Inn wedding the first weekend of June this year. This was our second most asked for date of 2025. Literally, right after they booked with us, we got two more requests for it. Then, we got many more as the year progressed.
We had never shot at the Nicollet Island Inn before, although we are super familiar with the area.  There are many venues in that area of the city. Plus, we shoot engagement and senior photography down there all the time. The Nicollet Island Inn is a gorgeous little hotel. It has a romantic vibe to it, surrounded by Saint Anthony Main. This makes for a wonderful wedding venue. We were very excited to be working there for the day.
We originally met Maria because we shot her cousin’s wedding last year. Her cousin’s wedding was a really fun day. So it’s always good when you get to work with great people you have worked with in the past. Now it’s Maria’s chance to be on the bride side of this! It was great experience getting to work with her and Jay throughout the year. We photographed their engagement session last summer and it was so much fun. They were one of our couples that got in water and did a champagne spray. It’s easy to remember couples that do those things. Especially when they get in the water. Especially when the water is cold in October.
Highlights of the Day:
- Not so much a highlight, but something we couldn’t stop laughing at. The cotton wood was CRAZY that day. It was everywhere. At one point, the groom turned around and Kyle just yelled out in surprise. His jacket was absolutely covered in it.
- Maria danced with her grandpa after dancing with her dad. Her grandpa could dance extremely well. It was so sweet.
- The wedding was indoors, which was great for this day. It poured for a good chunk of it.
- We ended up seeing the parents and sister of one of our former brides there. Always fun.
