Como Zoo Weddings
We have shot so many Como Zoo weddings at this point. Seriously, we have already shot one this year and it’s only May. It’s a really interesting place. Beautiful and unique for sure. We personally love that every time we go there, the flowers are different. Those flowers make for the BEST free wedding decor.
It’s crazy to us that Nicolette and Michael’s wedding is already here. It seems like we just shot their engagement photos. When we did their engagement photos, it was a crazy busy week. We actually had to shoot it at about ten in the morning because there was no other time left to do it. They were so much fun to work with. They are the type of people that just have genuine fun together and it shows in photography.
One thing with Como Zoo weddings is that the times for weddings is limited. This is since it is a public space, so they only allow ceremonies when the zoo is closed. Last month, we shot a ceremony at 8am. This is because it was before the zoo opened.  This time, we are on the other end of the day. That being said, the ceremony was at 7pm. It was crazy for us because it was a much later start time for us than usual. At most weddings, we are eating dinner at that time. But you never know what you’re going to get.
Highlights of the Day:
- So these two were SO happy all day. All wedding vendors know this type of couple. They just make your day so easy. Nicolette was smiling from the second we walked in the door.
- They had met through their love of Pokemon. Due to this, there was a lot of Pokemon stuff at the wedding. Michael even gave each of his groomsmen a watch featuring their favorite Pokemon.
- There was another wedding going on at Como that day. It was done by the time Nicolette and Michael did their first look. So they went over and got a photo with the other bride and groom.
- Awesome food. Lancer Catering nails the food every time. It’s so good.
- This was the first time we did a reception in the Rainforest Auditorium. Usually we do receptions there in the Covered Porch. It’s a really nice spot and has a totally different feel than the other area.
