This is our first Woods and Co wedding and we just loved it! There’s something extra magical about a winter wedding at this venue in Pepin, Wisconsin. Nestled deep in the woods, this venue feels like a peaceful hideaway — and in winter, it transforms into a cozy, snow-kissed retreat that’s both romantic and unforgettable.

Winter weddings in the Midwest are always a flip of the coin. We were thinking about the weather like crazy even months before this. We have shot winter weddings where there have been feet of snow on the ground. Then we have shot ones like this where the snow is lighter. Not to mention the temperatures. It’s January! But the cool thing about this day? They wanted snow and there wasn’t snow the day before the wedding. Then it snowed overnight, making that for those beautiful snow frosted trees the day of.

Dana and Ross are super sweet people. We did their engagement session with them at the end of the summer and it was so fun. They actually wanted to go in water during their engagement session. So it didn’t surprise me at all when they were game to go out in the snow on the wedding day.

Highlights of the day:

Mentioned above, but it snowed overnight. So there was a beautiful blanket of fresh snow for the day.
THE RECEPTION SPACE. It was the most beautiful, romantic space I have ever seen. There were SO many candles and fresh pine.
Their dog, Teddy was the ring bearer. He’s so cute.
They had pie!
They had a band. I will say it forever that a band is so great at a wedding. It brings an energy to the room that is so fun.
