Water Street Inn Weddings
Abby and Max were married at the beautiful historic Water Street Inn in Stillwater, Minnesota. Water Street Inn weddings are gorgeous. That hotel is so cool for those that are fans of historical buildings. If you’ve never been there, it is right before the St. Croix River and the bridge. It has an amazing view. The city is beautiful and is so fun for a wedding day. One thing, if you’re getting married there, let people know to arrive early. It took us almost thirty minutes to find parking. Stillwater is BUSY when it’s nice out.
We initially met with Abby and Max last year to go over their wedding plans. They live in Boston, so we were lucky they were able to meet with us in person. They flew out here to do their engagement photos in Taylors Falls, Minnesota. Everyone hopes that it won’t rain on the day they do photos. But they were REALLY hoping for it. The engagement session was so much fun. We couldn’t wait for their wedding day.
One big thing, they had originally wanted to get married in the gazebo. Well, the gazebo is under construction and is fully locked up. Then it turns out, one of their family members works for the company that is doing the construction. So even though they didn’t get to get married there, they were able to go into the locked off area for sunset photos. It was a nice addition to the day.
Highlights of the Day
- Abby’s grandma altered her dress for her. She was so sweet. Definitely one of my favorite people of the day.
- It was hot out so during the photos of the two of them, they stopped and got ice cream.
- Their dance floor was AWESOME. Also, the two of them were on the dance floor together. So often, couples split up during the dance floor time of the reception. It was so nice to see them dancing together.
- The first look took place on a stairway. You can see the stairway from some of the rooms in the hotel. When it was done, I turned around and two of the cleaning ladies working for the hotel were standing there crying.
- They wore the boots they had worn to their engagement session on the wedding day. That’s so fun.
