This wedding is the follow up to Becca and Justin’s destination wedding. This took place a week later in Minneapolis at Day Block.
Not only did we get to do their photography in the Caribbean, we got to do their Minneapolis wedding photography as well. It was like one huge wedding that lasted two weeks. We had no idea how big of an event this wedding was going to be after the destination wedding. From what we normally see, people have their destination wedding and then they have a little party for their friends and family back home. This was not the case here.
Becca had another dress (an AMAZING dress) for this event, another pair of shoes, another dinner, another theme, everything. It was a gorgeous vintage themed wedding from the dress she had specially tailored to the vintage MG they drove all over downtown Minneapolis in, to the wedding decor.
If there was every a place where you wanted to do wedding portraits indoors, I highly recommend getting a room at Le Meriden Chambers in Minneapolis. It is so worth it. We were going to look for places to shoot outdoors, but after getting a ton of images in their hotel room, we decided to go with those for their couple portraits. After those shots, they drove around in Justin’s vintage MG (it’s an MG!!!) and we were able to do some more photos of them with the car throughout the city.
The reception took place at Day Block and was adorned in vintage cigar boxes, pearls, Christmas lights, and more.
They had a few themes with their wedding, one obviously being the vintage theme, but another being travel, as Justin and half the wedding party are pilots. Everyone signed a globe and they had postcards and various other travel items decorating the room. One of the better parts of the night was when the bride and groom did a lip sync battle, which should seriously be done at EVERY wedding. It was hilarious with him lip syncing Whitney Huston and her lip syncing Marky Marky and the Funky Bunch. They both got very much into it, as shown in the photos below.
