This is the first wedding we have shot in January in Minnesota. Reason being? Most people don’t want to get married in one of the coldest months of the year in this frigid state. The great thing about this wedding date was that it ended up on one of the warmer January days that I have ever seen not only in Roseville, but in Minnesota, overall. It not only didn’t snow, it rained.
Mary and Tyler were so much fun. They had a beautiful Catholic ceremony and a very highly family oriented wedding overall. They were the absolute Irish Catholic family with numerous brothers and sisters on both sides, making for just a huge family presence. The day began at the wonderful Jessie Tomme salon in Mahtomedi where Mary and her mom got their hair and makeup done. I personally loved that and for moment wished that I had had my mom present when I was getting ready for my wedding. But the fact that Mary’s mom hadn’t started crying amazed me, just due to it being her daughter’s wedding day.
After their amazingly beautiful ceremony, they hopped in a limo with the party and drove all over the city, stopping at the Stone Arch Bridge, the Mill City area, and the Guthrie Theater for some portraits. The reception at the Radisson in Roseville was filled with more energy than I have seen in a long time. Mary was a volleyball player and her whole team was at the reception, cheering her on the whole night and making for such a fun environment. The second the first dance was done, the dance floor was FULL. We had never seen that at a wedding before. Usually it takes a few songs, but this group was on the floor as fast as they could be. It was just a great day (and night) overall and we hope to do more work with this wonderful couple in the future.
Thank you to the following people for making this day so special:
