Megan and Gavin’s wedding is our first wedding of the year at the historical Van Dusen Mansion in Minneapolis. Shooting Van Dusen Mansion wedding photography is a great experience. The building is so historic and we are huge history buffs. This won’t be the last time I say it, but if you are going for a mansion style venue, go for the Van Dusen Mansion wedding photography. It’s worth every penny. We have shot there numerous times and there is always something new to shoot. It’s also centrally located, which is SO nice. This wedding was absolutely beautiful. All week the forecast called for storms and the wedding we shot the weekend prior was literally riddled with them.
We shot Megan and Gavin’s engagement session on a very windy day in Minneapolis. It was such a cool session. Megan’s hair was whipping all over the place and was the perfect example of how windy hair can still look really amazing in photos.
Highlights from the day:
- Megan’s henna from the Indian ceremony the day before
- Megan’s shoes! They were so sparkly and fun
- We got to shoot wedding photos with lilacs in them. For those that know lilacs, they know they can be there one day and gone the next, so this was a real treat
- Megan’s bouquet got caught on a fan during the toss and went around in circles until someone got it down
Thank you to everyone who helped make this day amazing!
