Yet another rainy day wedding for us. As a Minneapolis wedding photographer, you get used to crazy weather at any given moment of the year. Seriously, a Minneapolis wedding photographer, has seen snow in April and September, sixty degree weather in February, you name it.
If it rains on your wedding day, don’t worry. Your day will still be just as amazing. Greta and Paul were married at Paikka, an industrial style venue in Minneapolis. One thing that was already awesome about the two of them was that we shot their engagement photos in Hayward, Wisconsin, where my whole family lives. It was a sheer coincidence. There wedding venue was cool because it’s got a minimalist atmosphere, but still very beautiful. I really like that look and we hadn’t shot at a place like this in the past, so it made for a fun challenge. The day started at Greta’s parents’ home, where they did the first look in her childhood bedroom. I really liked that idea. It was so sweet. We then took off to the Stone Arch Bridge and the venue for some more great fall photos.
Once again, it rained. This has been a very rainy year for Minnesota weddings, but they can make for some amazing photos. Note the overcast skies – they balance so well with those fall colors.
Highlights from the day:
- Like we stated above, the first look was in Greta’s childhood bedroom
- Greta wore her mom’s wedding dress with some modern adjustments
- They had Brasa do their food. I’m an absolute lover of Southern food and I can’t even tell you how good that dinner was
- They had a candlelit dinner. It took forever to get all those candles lit because we couldn’t wait to get the photos, but it was so worth it
