City senior photos are amazing. There is so much variety to them. As much as we love shooting seniors in nature, city senior photos are our favorites. As we said before, the variety is unmatched. Whether you are shooting in Mill City, like in this session, or downtown, Saint Anthony, in Saint Paul, it’s all different. There’s the street signs (which I’m a sucker for). You have the different architecture, there’s so much.
The day of this shoot, it almost didn’t happen. That’s the weather in Minnesota for you.
Marni actually goes to school in Japan. She was here and wanted us to do her senior photos. However, this was the only day we could do it. Otherwise, she would be across the ocean. So, of course, the Minnesota weather decides to go absolutely crazy. But you wouldn’t know it looking at these photos.
When I photographed Marni, my shoes were full of water. Why? Prior to the session, Kyle and I decided to treat ourselves to brunch. We sometimes do this before a photo shoot. That way, we can chill out a little before we work and get on the same page. We went to Red Cow in the North Loop and sat outside to eat. Well, then it decide to pour down rain. Not a little rain. That kind that soaks you to the bone. We were dressed for a warm day. So not only were our clothes soaked, but my socks and shoes were just drenched.
And just like that, the bright happy sun came out. So our shoes were all squishy during this session. It didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time with Marni. Her mom has known Kyle for a long time, so it was great to get to see her as well. Marni was a lot of fun and easy to work with. We loved working with her and the day made for a great beginning to our senior season.
