Minneapolis senior photography can be so versatile. I feel that many may think that if you are doing photography in the city, that all you will get in the background is buildings and streets. That is not always the case. We love shooting Minneapolis senior photography in a number of spots, but Saint Anthony Main is certainly a favorite. If you’re familiar with this blog, you’ve certainly seen the location in engagement photos and wedding photos as well. It’s beautiful.
We shot Lexi’s senior photos on a beautiful August Saturday. It was cloudy and we were amongst the brunch goers, joggers, and so many people walking their dogs. We actually had a break from weddings that weekend (for once), so it was really nice. For those familiar with the area, you know that weddings are super popular down there. We saw at least three weddings while taking her photos and it was so nice to just be dealing with a smaller shoot.
We photographed Lexi’s sister’s senior photos a few years back. Not only that, but Lexi’s dad was the DJ at our wedding back in 2007. So we both have known Lexi and her sister since they were very small. Doing their senior photos is a crazy thing, but also so fun. She was really fun to work with and I just loved her outfit choices. She had a look that very much fit the location and made the whole session so easy. One thing that was so funny was that we saw her parents the night prior at the Duran Duran show. For those that don’t know, that show was rained out. We were supposed to photograph it, so everyone was hunkered down in the casino waiting for news. We ran into them and talked about the senior photos. When the concert was cancelled, we left, laughing and saying, “…well, see you in the morning!”
