One thing we take a lot of pride in is being all inclusive at RKH Images. We are one of the (hopefully many) Minnesota LGBT wedding photographer and have a lot of fun shooting LGBT weddings. We have found over the years in this industry, that being Minnesota LGBT wedding photographer is still a bit of a rarity, which we find sad. Michael and Darren’s wedding was such a fun day, especially for being such a chilly day. The thing we really loved about this wedding was how much fun everyone in the wedding was. Michael and Darren are great people and we were already really excited about working with them.
We initially met them for dinner when they booked us and we spent two hours with them, talking about not only wedding stuff, but life in general. Thankfully, they booked us after that. The day of the wedding, we were immersed in their life for a very short time, but everyone around them are wonderful as well. It made the day so loving and the way that weddings should be.
Here is a review from the grooms:
“I don’t even know where to begin with RKH Images. We looked through and loved so many photographers and RKH Images was the first we met with. Kyle and Tracy wanted to go out to dinner to actually get to know us, which immediately made them stand out from all other wedding vendors we’d booked so far. We had an amazing dinner with them and we decided on our walk back home that we didn’t want to meet with any other photographers and potentially miss out on booking RKH Images. They’re fun AND take amazing photos–Can you really ask for anything more?! Leading up to the wedding, Tracy and Kyle were very responsive and helpful. Always quick to answer any questions and put any concerns to bed. We had our final meeting with them a week or two before our wedding day to tie up any loose ends. They asked us about any photos we really wanted to have done and even worked off a Pinterest board we’d created with other photos we loved! They wanted to make our big day as perfect as possible, which anyone getting married can certainly appreciate. On our wedding day, we didn’t feel uncomfortable with them being around and taking pictures of us getting dressed/kissing all day. We were really worried we would be stiff and uncomfortable with someone being around for our most intimate moments of the day, but not Kyle and Tracy. They’re incredibly professional, but their bubbly, fun, funny, casual personalities helped relax us and it really shows in our pictures. They were great with dealing with our wedding party and families and made sure we got every picture we wanted. They never came off as stressed or annoyed or bored. They were having just as much fun as we were! When it came time to get our photos roughly a month after the wedding, Tracy and Kyle had us over for dinner and a viewing of them all. Again, what other vendor is so awesome as to do that?! To say the final products we received were amazing would be a huge understatement. Every photo was beautiful and they got so many it really felt like we were going through the whole day again! Not one single detail was missed and they even captured some that I didn’t even think of/know I wanted to have memorialized! We are so thankful for the work that they did. I could not more highly recommend RKH Images. They were by far our favorite vendor and we will absolutely be recommending them to every single person who needs any kind of professional photography done! If you’re on the fence for any reason, JUST BOOK THEM. You will absolutely not regret it!”
Highlights of the day:
- Michael and Darren did getting ready photos together. We went to their hotel room with them and their dog was waiting for them. They had left HGTV on for him. This is 100% something the two of us would have done for our animals. It was so funny.
- Their wedding party was an absolute riot to work with. Take a look at the photos below and you’ll see it. Most of those group shots were just all of them having fun and posing it up.
- The last minute change to one of Lady Gaga’s songs from “A Star is Born”.
- Michael losing his mind over “A Star is Born” while Darren was like, “Yeah, it was good…” when we asked if they liked it. That was great. It was so a thing you do in a relationship.
