Minneapolis summer engagement photos are some of the prettiest!

I imagine that those that are not from this area can’t even imagine what they would look like.  Minneapolis is so well know for our winters that the idea of having Minneapolis summer engagement photos is hard for some to consider.  However, for those of us that live here, we know how beautiful it can be.

While it’s pretty out, it can be incredibly hot.  As was the case on this particular day.  Katie and Brandon’s engagement photography was shot in Saint Anthony Main.  That area is one of our favorites in Minneapolis, as it has so much character.  If you’re looking for a city spot that feels really classic, this is it.  There is the cobblestone street (my favorite) as well as the stone buildings, cafes, and the river view.  It’s simply beautiful and a few blocks from several parks as well.

In case of a very hot engagement session, we recommend the following:

• Bring water with you.  You can drink it constantly between photos and it makes you feel SO much better.
• Find shade.  Even if you’re not always shooting in it, if you need a break, you can step into it.
• Try to keep the areas you are in close.  If it is tremendously hot out, you don’t want to be walking around too much.

Update: looking back on these engagement photos after five years is so funny.  We have shot in Saint Anthony Main so many times now.  We photographed Katie and Brandon’s wedding at the Semple Mansion months after this session and it was certainly a memorable one.
