Although not an in home session, this at home engagement photography is at home.
We shot this at home engagement photography at the groom’s family’s property which was actually locked up for the season. It was a little chilly that day, but beautiful for photography. We didn’t really realize how far Annandale was from us until we got out there, so we made a day out of it. Like I’ve said before, shooting on your own property is really cool because it is unique to you and the memories of the place also get locked into the photos. I love that nostalgic factor alone. It was so much fun and shows that you can do engagement photos at home. So many people think you wouldn’t be able to use your own properties for photos. That simply isn’t true and these pictures tell the story of why.
This also goes to show that even if it’s cold or hot on your engagement session day, it’ll still be fun. You wouldn’t really know looking at these how cold we all were.
Amanda and Drew’s wedding isn’t until the fall, so we won’t be seeing them for a while, but it’s fun to look back on this session. We are very much looking forward to shooting their big day!
Update: looking back on these photos years later is amazing. Their wedding at Kellerman’s Event Center in White Bear Lake was SO much fun. Much like this session, it was a cooler day. Despite it being October, it snowed. Not only did it snow, we got one of our favorite snow wedding photos ever that night. Both of them were lovely to work with.
