Cosplay Wedding: Katie and Brian | Kellerman’s Event Center | White Bear Lake | Minnesota Wedding Photographer

I don’t even know where to begin with this wedding at Kellerman’s Event Center. There are so many awesome things about it. So I guess I’ll begin at when we met Katie and Brian. We had brunch with them when we first met and they had been recommended to us through their venue. We were getting to know one another and they told us that they were cosplayers.

Kyle and I are total nerds and love conventions of pretty much any type, so we love seeing people cosplay as well. It didn’t take long before we became their photographers. I’m just going to post a link to their engagement session HERE, as it is worth checking out. They had prop swords that they used at the engagement session and it was incredibly fun. We knew their wedding was going to be amazing.

The day of the wedding was HOT. We pulled into the venue parking lot at Kellerman’s Event Center and Brian actually pulled into the spot next to us. We saw he was wearing a black suit and I couldn’t be more grateful that I wasn’t wearing a suit. He was sweating by the time he got into the venue and it was mere feet away. Needless to say, the first look and a couple shots were outside, but we spent most of our time inside. That’s one of the things we love about Kellerman’s Event Center. It is ideal for the impossible to predict Minnesota weather. The interior is BEAUTIFUL.

Here is a review from the bride and groom:

“Out of all of the vendors to invest in for your wedding, the photographer should be top of the list. They are there to document the day, and to help you relive those memories. I believe they have one of the most important jobs of the wedding. Kyle and Tracy are professional, punctual, and my personal favorite attribute: they are active listeners. They took the time to get to know us as a couple, and made great judgement calls during our wedding to decide what my husband and I’s priorities were. They even had the patience of dealing with my very large family! Both engaged with our guests, which made the event for them a little more special. Also, they worked very well with our event coordinator, and were very considerate of the space.

At the last minute, one of my husband’s relatives asked if she could film the ceremony. I didn’t want to be the party-pooper bride, and tell her no. Fortunately, Kyle and Tracy were able to work with her on positioning, and they were able to come up with a plan so both of them could do their job. I think what else is really cool, is they have diverse skill sets in photography, and they aren’t afraid to take artistic opportunities that really gave us some unique photos!

From a financial standpoint, their pricing is very fair. From day one they tell you what their services cost, and they won’t tack on any fees later down the road. They were willing to drive from Burnsville to Anoka county for our complimentary engagement shoot. Honestly it probably took them longer to drive there than the duration of the shoot.

I’m so grateful they were willing to make that drive through 35W construction! These are only a few of many good examples of what it was like working with Kyle and Tracy. If you want skillful, personable, and professional photographers, please consider RKH Images. A secondary note to add: maybe by the time you’ve read this review, you’ve already booked your photographer. I would still recommend RKH Images for any other types of photography you are interested in: mini-shoots, maternity shoots, engagement photos, or cosplay shoots!”

Here’s a list of a few things on this day that we just LOVED:

  • Katie’s DRESS!

  • They had a sword prop they built that was used as the guest book

  • They had a commissioned painting of their dog on the desert table so he would be present

  • Katie’s brothers (the ushers) were dressed as the Blues Brothers

  • After the first dance and spotlight dances, they broke into “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love”

  • Katie and Brian actually took a class to perfect the Footloose dance, which they also performed (see the last three photos on this post

There was so much more. This day was amazing and fun.
