This wedding was the second day of a two wedding weekend for us, and it had snowed on both days.  The night before, we had shot snow photos with the couple, and figured the same would be done on this day.  As we drove to Rochester that morning, the weather was nothing but that rain snow stuff. Luckily, Kori and Marcus were getting married indoors, the Olmsted County Fairgrounds, because the weather was that very damp cold that would not have been fun at all. The two of them were in a wonderful mood, despite the weather, and were an absolute joy to work with.  It wasn’t the first time they had to deal with the winter weather, as their engagement photography was also in the winter.

Highlights of the day:

• Kori and Marcus had a Nightmare Before Christmas theme going on, due to the close proximity to Halloween. Their cake toppers were Sally and Jack and they had wine bottles with custom Nightmare Before Christmas labels.

• Kori’s shoes were awesome (see below).

• Shooting at their venue prior to guests arriving (first look, couple photos and party and family photos) was like shooting in a studio due to the clouds outside and the setup of the venue. It was amazing.

• I was dealing with a sore throat the day of the wedding and Kori’s mom actually ordered me a huge tea from Starbucks. That made my whole day. Our clients and their people are awesome.

• Kori and Marcus added strings of lights to the Olmsted County Fairgrounds venue. It was a simple addition and added SO much to the venue. It’s a great example of how you can make something great out of something quite easy. It created a golden lighting to the venue that was really beautiful.
