When I think of the sunset photography that we do now, it’s mostly just of the actual sunset.  It’s been that way for months now.  There are no people in the photos.

We decided it would be fun to touch base with some clients and take photos of them at sunset, just to cheer us all up and have fun.  These two are perfect for that.  We photographed their wedding last year on perhaps the most humid day of the year.  They got married on a Thursday.  You know, back before it was the thing to due in lieu of a pandemic.

Shooting sunset photography at the Stone Arch Bridge is a lot of fun.  You get that whole view of the city, which is just classic.  We began at golden hour and these two pretty much blew through the photography at top speed.  They’re really fun people that just feed off each others energy really well.  We didn’t even have to tell them what to do.  It was us saying, “Go,” and they went on from there.  This proves that when you are doing photography as a couple, you don’t have to be serious about it.  Just be yourselves!  It’s more enjoyable that way for everyone involved, plus, you get photos that are truly you.

After the shoot, they brought us to dinner and we talked about their honeymoon at Galaxy’s Edge.  Kyle is a HUGE Star Wars fan, so he was loving that.  Awesome story: Emily met Chewbacca and broke down crying like a child.  That is so great.  She showed us pictures and it was the cutest thing I had seen in a long time.  Well, not only that, but Chewbacca and Rey ESCORTED her onto the Millennium Falcon!  Walked her right in front of everyone and onto it!  It’s one of the best stories ever, especially if you are a Star Wars fan on your honeymoon!  We were talking for it for a week after.

If there was a takeaway from this shoot, I would say it would be to have fun and just be yourself.
