Rachel and Ryan are one of our couples whose wedding was disrupted by the pandemic.  Rather than move everything to 2021 or do everything in 2020, they decided to do a small summer elopement.  In essence, this was a part one of two of their wedding.

We were very excited for this part of their wedding and can’t wait for the next one.  We met with Rachel and Ryan last year and did their engagement session almost immediately.  They are both such fun people and we knew they were going to be a joy to work with.  They’re both teachers and we LOVE working with teachers.  For some unknown reason, we work with a lot of them.  One thing that we both love about their day(s) is that this year, they are doing a summer elopement.  They did a ceremony with a fun reception in the backyard.  Next year, they are going to do a full wedding, but replace the ceremony with a vow renewal.  How awesome is that?

Highlights of the day:

• The day of this part of their wedding, it was incredibly hot and humid.  I’m hoping that was the last day like that of the summer because July was rough.  Everyone got through it like champs, however.
• The men in the wedding wore Hawaiian shirts.
• This was their officiant’s first ceremony.
• We get to work with them again next year!!
