Brookview Golf Club: Jen and Bret | Rainy Wedding Day | Minnesota Wedding Photographer

Jen and Bret were married on the second day of our first real fall weekend of 2022. Much like the couple the day prior, they didn’t let the rain get them down. They were married at Brookview Golf Club in Golden Valley, a venue we have shot at several times before. This was one of the weddings where we knew the bride before booking with us. Kyle met her years prior, so we also knew a lot of the guests at the wedding. That’s always fun and makes for an interesting experience. We always get people we know saying, “Wow, you two really do a LOT on a wedding day!” when they see us do it the day of. It’s so funny.

Highlights of the day:

– Their flowers! I absolutely loved their flowers. There’s something so cool about the really colorful flowers offsetting the black and white of the couple’s attire that day.

– They hired Rustic Elegance as wedding planners. We have worked with them in the past and they are just lovely. We had a lot of fun working with them on Jen and Bret’s day as well.

– Jen was so chill about the day. She had a veil, but we were all pretty sure it would fly out because it was so windy. We were all basically making fun of this fact because we did a series of photos of her veil just flying all over the place. It’s good to have fun on your day like that.

– Again, another couple that just went with the weather and didn’t let it bring them down. I can’t emphasize how important this is on a wedding day. Don’t worry about things you can’t control and just enjoy your day.

– Jen didn’t care if anyone saw her before the ceremony. We’ve only ever had one other wedding like that and it was at the same venue. Another just chill way to have your day. Love it.

– Strangely enough, this wedding also had the cardboard faces on sticks, like our wedding the night prior. But they were all of Bert Blyleven as a callback to when she and friends would attend Twins games. They were all over the place. To the point where one was left at the bar and the bartenders used it as a prop throughout the night.
