Minneapolis winter engagement photography can be a real treat.  Despite the sometimes freezing weather, it can be really beautiful.  I know that when you put the words Minneapolis winter engagement photography together, you may think people are crazy for doing it.  On this particular day, we were shooting with it being in the thirties.  Our past winter shoots had just barely been above zero, so it was awesome.

The other, more obvious, awesome thing was meeting Andrew and Jake.  We had never met them.  Our consult and booking with them had been over the phone.  So we were all super excited to meet in person.  They actually booked their date around our availability!  That is always such an honor when people do that.  It happens from time to time, but usually people pick a date first.  It was great because they were both so fun.  We were all just laughing throughout the shoot, which makes everything so easy.  On top of that, we didn’t even really need to pose them at all.  Their candid movements and ease with us made photos so simple.  We ended up talking about multiple random things, including “The Play that Goes Wrong” of all things.

They are getting married this summer.  The amount of shorter bookings we have had this year is just crazy.  As of December, we had no summer weddings and booked a bunch of them in January.  We are really excited for their wedding because if their engagement session is any indication of how it will be, it’s going to be a lot of fun.  They are going to be getting married on a boat leaving Stillwater this summer.  It’s awesome because they keep mentioning that guests can’t mess around because the venue will leave.  Love it. Also, weddings on the water are just cool.  Very Minnesotan.
