Bunker Hills Event Center: Becca and Matt | Minnesota Rainy Wedding Photography

Becca and Matt’s wedding was on a very rainy Minnesota day at Bunker Hills Event Center in Coon Rapids. But not just any day. It was our sixteenth wedding anniversary! Okay, onto their day…

There is one thing that is really important when getting married. Make sure your venue has a weather backup plan. It’s been super hot this year and Bunker Hills Event Center has a beautiful outdoor ceremony spot. But they also have a good spot indoors as well. This was especially beneficial on this rainy wedding day.

The two of them could not have been more chill about a rainy day. I personally love rainy weddings. I find rain to be really romantic. However, most people don’t see it that way. They get really upset over it. It didn’t phase them in the least. We actually shot Becca’s sister’s wedding years prior. It was really nice to see her again. It’s always so awesome when we work with families of previous clients. I know I say that a lot, but it makes the day so easy! Becca and Matt booked us over a year ago and it was really cool getting to meet him.

We shot their engagement session last fall, but it was so hot the day of. Still, they wore clothes that would have been for a fall shoot because they wanted the look of one. I had to give them serious credit for that because it was hot and humid. Check out their fall outfits in the link above.

Also Kyle and Tracy were able to take photos of our special day on their special day. I will be forever grateful for their amazing work. Highlights of the Day:

Getting to work with families we had worked with in the past is always fun.
It rained and they were awesome about it.
Becca and Matt actually got us an anniversary gift!!! End of the night comes and they brought out this big bag for us. It was the Corpse Bride Funko Pop because all of us are Funko nerds.
Their dance floor was SO fun. That’s one big thing about weddings when it comes to the energy of the night. Everyone was great.
I again have to mention how awesome they were about the rain. They went out in it after the ceremony for photos. Then again at night. We love when people just embrace the elements of the day.
