Thanksgiving Family Photography

When you think of doing family photos, you probably don’t think of doing Thanksgiving family photography.  And I’m not talking about doing photography of the dinner and such.  I’m talking about fitting a family photography session in during your busy Thanksgiving weekend.  Well, this family did it.

You may be asking yourself why.  The answer, at least with them, was pretty awesome.  They had come from Chicago to the grandparents’ house.  Having seen our photography online, they really wanted to work with us.  Since they were in Minnesota at that time, they contacted us to see if we were available.  Indeed we were, so it all worked out.   That was a huge compliment to us too.  For anyone who has ever looked for a photographer, you know there are a ton in one area.  Especially in Chicago!  But our work stood out to them and we love that.

We shot at the grandparents’ home in North Oaks, Minnesota.  We had never been to North Oaks.  The area has a really cool history to it.  I’m going to leave a link to that here.  I love reading about history of areas and this was especially interesting.

Despite it being a rather chilly day, we all decided to shoot outside in the yard.  The background was just great for outdoor photos.  I’ll forever say it: photos at home are the BEST.
