Machine Shop Wedding
This was the first Machine Shop wedding we had ever shot and it was AWESOME!
We first met Ashley and Kelsey last November. I feel like this wedding has come up so fast. We only worked with the two of them when it was cold out. When we first met, it was cold. I still feel like our cats are what booked their wedding with us. After the first consult, they asked if they could see our cats. We keep our cats hidden during consults because they run around like maniacs. They wanted to meet them though, so we figured, sure. Then they hung out a lot longer just playing with them. It was really fun.
Their engagement session was also shot during the winter. Despite this being a warm winter, I swear their photos were taken on the coldest of the days. It was fun though and I will forever see them dressed in the red flannels they wore that day.
Finally, for the second consult, the weather was warmer. But they still spent three fourths of the time with us playing with the cats again.
It rained the whole day of the wedding. This summer has been super rainy and it was expected. This is why we often tell people to have weather backups, no matter when they are getting married. Luckily, their venue was indoors. Regardless of this, we got awesome photos for them during the time that would have had a sunset. So don’t worry about rain on your wedding day! 🙂
Highlights of the Day
-
- Ashley and Kelsey both work in the wedding industry. I think this is the first wedding we have shot where people work in the same industry as us. It’s been hilarious because it’s been nothing but stories. But also, they are doing what THEY want for their wedding. Being in this industry long enough teaches you to do that.
- They did not have a wedding party. Actually our second wedding in a row with no wedding party.
- Brasa catered the wedding!! If you have never had Brasa, you are missing out. It’s so incredible.
- Kelsey’s jumpsuit was awesome. Ashley’s dress was amazing too, but we just love when people step outside of the traditions with wedding attire.
