Earl and Wilson Event Center Wedding

This was our second time getting to photography an Earl and Wilson Event Center wedding. We love this venue. Something about it is just really unique. It’s got a modern vibe with some classic touches, which gives it a nice blend of sophistication and charm. The space is versatile. It has a large main area that’s perfect for weddings. But it also has smaller rooms. Those are wonderful for a cocktail hour, or just when you are taking photos. The venue really lets your wedding shine the way you envision it. Plus, with its central location in Saint Paul, you have access to amazing spots for photos and convenience for out-of-town guests. Working at a venue you have been to before is always so nice.

Okay, so that’s enough about the venue. We actually had not met Dan until the day of the wedding. Reason being, the two of them were from outside Minnesota. That being the case, we did a consult on the phone. They also didn’t have an engagement session because they just weren’t in Minnesota in time. We met Mandy a month prior to the wedding when she was in town. That was such a fun meeting. We went over the wedding information with her, but then spent two hours just talking. She was so much fun. So we knew that when the day came, there would be nothing to worry about.

Highlights of the Day

We got to play with their dog, Murphy. Getting to play with dogs is always a plus to the day.
Dan really does not like having his photo taken. It’s just not his thing. He told us later in the day that we really made him feel comfortable with photos. That made us feel so good because making clients comfortable is our main goal.
Instead of wearing suits, Dan and the groomsmen wore dark jeans with fisherman sweaters. It was a nod to Dan growing up in New England. We loved it.
Their flower girl didn’t really warm up to Kyle until she realized he was wearing a Gryiffindor tie. That was pretty awesome when she figured that out.
Their dance floor was awesome. We love great dance floors.
