Como Conservatory Wedding
Kiera and Logan got married at the Como Conservatory in Saint Paul in the middle of November.
If you’ve been involved in a Como Conservatory wedding, you know that the venue doesn’t give you access until after it closes. So this means that if you want to do any photos prior to your ceremony there, it’s all outside. People in Minnesota also know that it can be very cold in Minnesota in November. Basically since we booked this wedding, I was asking myself if we would see snow on their wedding. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least. We had to take most of the photos before the wedding because the sun set during the ceremony. After that, it’s dark, even in the Sunken Garden due to the glass walls.
Luckily, the forecast for that day was in the fifties and there was no snow or rain. Hooray! However, it was still really cold. They were joking all day about how it was like the engagement session. Kiera and Logan got a cool Airbnb in Saint Paul prior to the ceremony, so we did the majority of formal photos there. It made for a nice variety for the day too.
Let’s go back about a year to Keira and Logan’s engagement session, when we first worked with them. Last year was a warmer winter, with the exception of that morning. It was SO cold. We went to the Saint Paul Hotel and did photos around there. We found ourselves running back into the hotel to warm up several times. The two of them were such troopers and made the best of it. There was a point when Kiera decided to take off her coat to get photos with the outfit she had worn for the shoot. She got so cold that I saw her lips shiver and I was just like, “We have to get your coat back on!”
The day was so much fun. This was our last big wedding of 2024 and it was a great one to end on.
Highlights of the Day
- Their dance floor was SO GOOD! We have had so many awesome dance floors this year. With this being our last big wedding of the year, it was great to go out on a big note.
- The cupcakes were incredible. They were by the same people that did our wedding cake.
- The Airbnb was so nice. It made for amazing photos prior to the ceremony.
- Everyone was great to work with. It’s wonderful to have great couples, but it really makes the day when all the guests are just as cool as the couple.
- Como Zoo put up the Christmas trees. Because of this, we were able to get some really amazing night photos with them.
