Saint Paul Courthouse Wedding
Megan and Mason were married at a Saint Paul courthouse wedding on a chilly day in December. The funny thing about this is that everyone in the city was all excited because it hit forty degrees that day. Well, the wind made it feel like it was about ten. The two of them and their families were major troopers for outdoor photos though. We’ll give credit where it is due.
A thing that is a little different from other courthouse weddings we have done is that they actually didn’t have us photograph the wedding. Rather, we met up after up the ceremony to do family and couple photos. Originally, they were planning to get married at the Minneapolis courthouse. However, there was a BIG Vikings home game the same day, so they switched over to Saint Paul. It’s probably for the best because by the time we started photos, it just would have been a ton of tailgaters in Minneapolis. Now, that could be awesome. But it all just depends on the kind of photos you want.
We all met up at the St Paul Hotel. For those that know the area, it’s awesome for photography. You’ve got that, Rice Park, and all the classic buildings around it. Their families were so easy to deal with for family photos. That was most likely due to them not wanting to be out in the cold any longer than necessary. We were done with family photos in ten minutes and spent the rest of the time with Megan and Mason. Megan had these awesome custom Converse as well as a white fur faux shawl. Those shawls look SO good with wedding attire! I just cannot get over it. Also, the St Paul Hotel was nice enough to let us take a couple photos on their beautiful staircase.
The two were a total joy to work with and it was really nice to get some work in December. We have another smaller wedding in a few weeks, then it’s on to 2025!
