Turtle’s 1890 Social Centre Wedding
This was the first Turtle’s 1890 Social Centre wedding we had ever shot. It’s a cool little event center in Shakopee, pretty close to where we live. Their wedding was on December 27. So you’re already thinking, oh, it’s going to be cold and snowy. Wrong. It was forty degrees and pouring rain. So we were pretty thankful to be able to shoot everything indoors.
We met Ann and Jason back in October when they contacted us about their day. It was to be a fun micro wedding, which we LOVE shooting on the off season. Seriously, we still get to shoot weddings, but we aren’t working ourselves to the bone all year. It’s really nice. We had just shot another micro wedding a couple weeks back and will be shooting another in January. We have been told by a number of people now that a lot of photographers refuse to shoot smaller weddings. So we are happy to take them. This was a really nice way to spend the day with some great people.
Highlights of the Day:
- Like I told Ann, I don’t like the weather for winter weddings, but I love the aesthetic. They had such fun decor. There were pinecones everywhere, including the tables and with the flowers. There were even pinecone decor in Ann’s dress.
- Jason had a green suit. Love that.
- During the reception, they had pizza, chicken and cream cheese wontons for people to eat. The food was SO good!!
- It rained, but they didn’t let that get them down. We even got them outside for amazing rain photos.
