Chilly Spring Engagement Photos
Minnesota really has a way of driving you nuts with the weather. These chilly spring engagement photos were shot after we had planned on scheduling a date that would be “warmer”. Once again, we were at Centennial Lakes Park. Love that location.
Taylor and Lewis are actually getting married at the end of May. These photos were shot at the beginning of April. This was mainly due to them booking us in the winter and not wanting winter photos. So they are using these photos for things other than save the dates. Like Christmas cards and the like. The thing that we all found funny was how cold it was when we met. If you remember this time of year when you read this, it was seventy degrees a week prior, then snowed. So the temps were all over the place. This was no exception.
This engagement session will always stick out in my head. It was the day after I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was the first thing that really got me out of the house and focused on something else. We showed up and Taylor was carrying a bouquet of flowers. I initially thought it was for the session. Then she handed them to me, apologized for this crappy disease and I almost started to cry. Our clients are just the best.
If you scroll down far enough, you’ll see that they had really nice outfits on beneath their sweatshirts. But it was so windy and cold that we did those photos super fast. This isn’t the first time that has happened. Their wedding during Memorial Day weekend. All I kept thinking was, “Please let it be warm on their wedding day.” Because let’s be serious, it can be cold on that weekend.
We are so excited to be shooting their wedding at The Gardens of Castle Rock. We haven’t shot there before and it looks so pretty when we look it up!
