Minneapolis Mansion Wedding Photography
We love a good Minneapolis mansion wedding. Seriously, Minneapolis has some GORGEOUS historical mansions. The Semple Mansion is one of those places. It’s always so cool photographing a wedding there because it’s so classic.
We originally met Rachel and Isaiah nearly a year before the wedding. The two of them are really fun people. They are the sort of people we felt very comfortable just talking to. Those are the kind of people we love to work with. If it’s easy to have a conversation, you know it’s going to be easy to work with them on a busy day. And that certainly was the case. It was really fun shooting their engagement session in Edina. It was interesting because it was the one day that week where it didn’t pour down rain. We got LUCKY. It was literally the scenario where we went back and forth on weather thoughts all week. Because of this, there was really cool pink sunset.
They did a full wedding day from hair and makeup to reception dancing. Those are always good days because we get to know everyone during hair and makeup. It’s nice because you don’t instantly jump into formal photos and everyone is much more comfortable.
Since their ceremony was at 5:30pm, the day went by SO fast! Dinner started at 7pm and we were scheduled to leave at 9pm. It was crazy how fast the day ended.
We had a wonderful time at this wedding. Rachel and Isaiah are great people and their wedding party and family were so fun to work with. Such a good way to start the big 2025 season!
Highlights of the Day:
- Being big Taylor Swift fans, Rachel and Isaiah incorporated a bunch of Taylor Swift Easter eggs into their wedding. (See the mirror and more)
- Adding to this, after the first dance and parent dances, they did a dance with the wedding party to Love Story. It was just ridiculously fun. I love when people jam out to that song.
- Instead of having the clinking of the glasses, they did trivia. People still clinked though, lol.
- This had to be one of my favorite things ever. So, I wore my skull ring to the wedding, which I call my Steve Austin ring. If you know Steve Austin, you get it. Well, I lost it halfway through the day and mentioned it to the groom. He loved that I had that ring because his groomsmen were actually doing their grand entrance to Steve Austin’s wrestling intro.
- Rachel surprised the groomsmen with Smirnoff Ice when they did a reveal with her. It was just hilarious.
- They did a table dash after their grand entrance. Table dashes can be a little nuts from a photographer standpoint, but we love them because they are a GREAT way to get photos with all of your guests.
