Hope Glen Farm Wedding Photography
Hooray – we are back at Hope Glen Farm!
For those not in the know, we love barn weddings. And this farm is an amazing venue for those that also love them. The property is a beautiful sprawling one, complete with numerous buildings and their well known treehouse. Amongst the property lives goats and chicken, which are such a fun addition to any day. They had baby goats! I love goats so much and the baby ones were adorable. We were very happy to be back.
Initially, we “met” Bernadette and Dmitry over a Facetime call. It was a three way call because they were in different cities. So you had Dmitry at home, Bernadette in a park, and us on our back porch. That already made for a fun call. We chatted for quite a bit and were super happy when they decided to book us. That fall, we drove down to Rochester to shoot their engagement session. We shot it at Essex Park. We had never been there before, but they had and loved it. It was a beautiful park, especially in the fall. It was great to meet them in person.
This day was so lovely. To bear fair, the weather was pretty brutal. It started with absolute pouring rain. The venue prepared for both an indoor and outdoor ceremony. Luckily, the rain cleared up and they were able to have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. However, because of the rain clearing up, it got REALLY humid. The only thing that made it bearable was how wonderful this day was. Seriously, this couple is amazing and so were all their people. It’s the kind of wedding we would love to shoot every weekend.
Finally, we love Jewish weddings. They are so steeped in tradition and it makes them amazing. The ceremony was so beautiful and then the reception was just FUN. The hora is so amazing even just to see. Love it all.
Highlights of the day:
- Bernie had two wedding dresses. That’s always so fun. I feel partial to that because at our wedding, I actually changed into jeans and a tank top so I could dance at the reception. I love having two outfits, regardless of what they are.
- Their dog walked down the aisle.
- They did a horse carriage ride to “Pink Pony Ride”. Come on, HOW AWESOME IS THAT??
- Ice cream was had for desert. Yum.
- Speaking of food, they did cheese curds for appetizers. They were just unbelievably good.
- During the first dance, Bernie broke into the Worm. It’s was awesome.
- This was the first time I got to photograph a hora. Kyle has shot them before when he has second shot with other photographers. It was SO much fun.
