Alex and Lu were married in September at Earl Giles Distillery. These two are so fun. So we “met” Alex and Laura over the phone and they booked us right away. Which is always cool. Then we booked their engagement session.
Their engagement session was rescheduled three times. The weather was SO not working in their favor those days. When we finally got to do the session, it was actually the day after a wedding we did on Nicollet Island. We did the engagement photos at the same spot, so it was like we never left. The session was ridiculously fun and we were so glad to meet them in person, finally.
This was one of the happiest weddings we have ever shot. That may sound weird because, hello, it’s a wedding? But we so often have days where people are stressed out. This was just a day where everyone involved was happy and having a great time. I also have to say that having food stations is the way to go. People like to eat, and being told there are snacks all night is awesome. They had an incredible dance floor too because bands are the best at weddings.
There is no way anyone could have walked away from this wedding unhappy. It was just such a fun, positive event. I wish they were all like this.
Highlights of the Day
- They had a band! For those of you that have read our past blogs, you know we love that. Their band was actually the same one we saw a wedding a few weeks back.
- They both wore white suits, which were so cool. Plus, we got couple photos done so much faster because there were no dresses to move around.
- They had a shot ski. I don’t even drink, but I always find those fun.
- Instead of having a sit down dinner, they did food stations. I’m the kind of person that loves to nibble on things all day, so I love this. The food was AMAZING.
- Back to the food, but they had cheese curds!
