Ashley and Matt were married on a beautiful October day at Chankaska Creek Ranch in Kasota, Minnesota. We had never shot a Chankaska Creek Ranch wedding before, so we were really excited to see the venue. It’s a lovely spot for a wedding — romantic and just the right blend of rustic and elegant. It’s nestled just outside of Mankato, so it feels like a bit of a hidden gem. However, it’s still really accessible. Because of all that, a fall wedding there is amazing.

We originally met Ashley and Matt at their engagement session. It was so funny because we were driving around looking for parking. We had no idea what they looked like because we hadn’t met them prior. Then, we saw a couple with two Corgis. We knew instantly that was them. They are just our type of people. It was such a fun session. When we met for our second consult, we were so excited to hear that the dogs were going to be in the wedding too.

Highlights of the Day

They brought the Corgis! Seriously, so fun. They’re adorable.
The weather that day was beautiful. It’s been so up and down lately, so it was really nice to have that gorgeous warm fall weather.
They did a prayer circle during the ceremony.
We got to do sunset photos in the vineyard. So pretty!
