The state of Minnesota bodes ample opportunity for winter wedding photography. It can be tricky though because a lot of people don’t want to take winter wedding photography due to how cold it is. We can’t blame them for that. If you haven’t been to Minnesota before, it gets COLD. Not normal cold, either. We’re talking well below zero with winds and more. However, the day of Christina and Matt’s wedding was what we consider a nice winter day. It was thirty degrees with no wind. This was awesome because the weekend prior (the one they originally wanted) was well below zero with a ton of snow falling. It would have been a hard weekend for a wedding.
We have known Christina for years and recently met Matt. Neither of us had ever seen Christina as happy as she was on the wedding day. We jumped into the day, starting photography at first look, so we were curious as to how it would play out in the beginning. The two had so much fun together that photos were a breeze. They were both just so happy.
Both of them have all brothers for siblings. All their brothers stood up for them, so it was all groomsmen. Those brothers gave speeches at the reception as well. The speeches ranged in emotion, but I honestly have never photographed so much reception laughter in my life. Take a look below at the speech photos. They were constantly laughing and it was so fun to capture.
Congrats again to Christina and Matt!
Highlights of the day:
- The couple wore awesome winter accessories. Matt’s camel colored coat and Christina’s green one were perfect for the season. They also had winter boots on (love it).
- First look on the Stone Arch Bridge. We do a lot of photos on the Stone Arch Bridge, but doing a first look on it has a magical feel to it.
- CRAVE did their catering. We have actually never had their catering before and we cannot recommend it enough.
- Christina wore a bracelet with her father’s writing engraved in it. (see below)
- DONUTS! 🙂
