This is yet another couple that we “met” on Zoom this year.  It’s a huge theme of the past year, but we honestly cannot wait to get back to meeting people in person.

This has been a crazy year (or so).  Normally we meet with potential clients in person, but the majority of them have been over Zoom this year.  Because of this, it’s REALLY fun for us when we meet in person.

We met Elyse and Matt for their sunny engagement photography in Stillwater, Minnesota.  We had already spoken with Elyse, but hadn’t met Matt at all.  They are both really awesome people and both just generally had a lot of fun together during this shoot.  It’s always great when you show up to photograph people and they are relaxed and having fun.  It makes it so easy for everyone involved.

This day was VERY sunny and windy.  Those two conditions are those that can make things rougher when shooting photos, but we all had fun with it.  The wind was crazy, especially down by the water.  But all we could do was laugh.  What else is there to do?  Sunny engagement photography calls for playing with the light, which we got to do a lot of on this day.  We love the challenge of light.

These two are getting married this fall (one of our MANY October weddings).  We are so excited to work with them again.  It’s going to be an awesome wedding season with so many great clients.

Another note regarding this session – it was our first engagement session done with our Sony cameras.  We made the switch from Nikon to Sony this year and were super stoked to shoot with the new cameras.  We literally could have just kept going all day with those things.
