Lake Nokomis engagement photography is a beautiful thing.  This particular engagement photography was shot at golden hour in the fall.  So, you know, prime time.  But we have shot there in the middle of the winter before and it’s still gorgeous.

Fun little background to this session.  Kyle and his friends’ group has known Jen for years.  So when she and Bret got engaged, they immediately thought of us.  We were actually some of the first to know of the engagement, which was interesting.  We couldn’t let the other people in their circle know about it.  I love little stuff like that.  They decided to do their engagement photography at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis and we couldn’t have been happier about it.  The area was gorgeous with the fall colors.  The sunset made things all the more beautiful and they also brought their dog with them.  It’s always so great when people have their pets with them.

One of the nice things about this area is that there is SO much space to work with.  We started over by the beach, which the ducks simply OWN.  As we walked down the path towards the dock, Jen and Bret clearly became more comfortable with things.  By the time we got to the dock, the sun was setting more and you can see in photos that they were having a lot more fun.

We’re excited to be shooting their wedding at Brookview Golf Course next fall.  2022 is going to be lots of fun!
