I love when people contact us simply to shoot their engagement photos.  With how crazy the last year has been, it makes sense to me when people are like, yeah, we don’t know what we’re doing with the wedding yet.  Ashley contacted me one day and we were able to set up a fall engagement session within a week.  That is a little unheard of in Minnesota.  A fall engagement session is something that often gets set up a year in advance.  With everything else going on this year as well, we were both super stoked that there was availability.

Ashley and Joel didn’t have any wedding information yet, but wanted to get their engagement photos done.  YES, we do that.  We do shoot engagement photos outside of wedding packages.  A lot of people don’t know that.  Ashley told me that she liked the photos we had done at Lebanon Hills Regional Park before, so she knew what she wanted.  That’s one of our favorite things.

So, okay, let’s talk about Ashley’s orange sweater for a second.  Seriously, how fantastic is that?  The color fit the session so well!  I’m a big fan of orange, although many aren’t.  But it looked so great in this session.  Also, we have the same boots.  That’s always fun.  The two of them were really fun to work with.  They were also the type that really warmed up the further into the session we went, which you can always see in later photos.  As we were leaving, the sun was getting to a sweet spot and we ended up shooting in the parking lot.  I love that there are so many photos where you have no idea that they are taken in spots that wouldn’t seem ideal.
