June wedding photography has been SUPER popular for us this year. This year, being 2022, for when we read this in the future. Many of you may be thinking, well, of course! June wedding photography is some of the most popular always. Not for us. We typically shoot more in the later summer, but this year, it’s all about the early summer.

Sara and Chris were married at Kellerman’s Event Center in White Bear Lake. We love it there. We have photographed there so many times that I have now lost count. It’s just a very unique venue. It also has not only a beautiful exterior, but, in my opinion, a more beautiful interior. It makes it nice for summer weddings when it may rain or may just be too hot. Or those fall weddings when it decides to snow early…

Anyway, we were really excited for this wedding. Sara and Chris are great people and, much like so many of our clients, are just really laid back and fun. We did their engagement session last year in Excelsior and it was such a fun shoot. I’ll never forget it because we went to Lagos Tacos with them afterwards. I had never been there and it was so good.

Highlights of the day:

Sara’s dress! Again, this year has been the year of the dress for us. It was so amazing.
Not technically a highlight, but a memory for sure. The salon lost the reservation for Sara and everyone’s hair and makeup. So it was a little chaotic at the beginning of the day. Ultimately, first look was an hour late due to it, but Sara was very calm and took it well. That was wonderful because there was nothing they could do about it, so stressing would have made it so much worse.
Sara and Chris did their first dance as they walked in before dinner. That’s great because once that was done, they didn’t have to think about anything and just enjoyed the rest of the night.
When people wanted them to kiss during the reception, instead of clinking glass, people had to make a donation that would go to the animal humane society. Love it.
